Biography

Well known for his prolific work in film and TV soundtracks, including the Emmy award nominated National Geographic specials: "Land of the Tiger" and "Twilight of the Dream Time," and his BAFTA nominated "Kingdom of the Ice Bear," Terry’s music takes listeners to places one can only envision in dreams.

In 2001,Terry moved with his wife and three of his children to Queensland, Australia. He embarked on a number of new projects musically.

In February, 2002 his first album on New Earth Records was released. Titled "Turning Point", it was a departure from his past since 6 of the 7 songs were vocal, with only one instrumental. There is an entire section on the website devoted to "Turning Point". You can hear sound clips, watch the video of Guardian Angel, read Terry's thoughts on recording it, and enjoy the comments we have received from all over the world.

Thus far, 2003 has seen Terry’s musical projects take various paths. He is currently working on two forthcoming DVDs: "The Four Seasons" and "Terry Oldfield's Underwater World". July of this year saw his music showcased at the opening of a special exhibit at the National Museum of Australia. He just completed new theme music for the animated clock in Milton Keynes, England and in August he released his latest album “A Time for Peace” on New Earth Records. The new album is a collection of tracks recorded during his first year of living in Australia. It has been an exciting time of transition and discovery for him and these pieces reflect some moments of peace in a difficult journey towards arriving. Terry says that he hopes this music will make for you, as it has for him, "A Time for Peace".
