[Article - SCL Oscar Reception 2008]

All of the music nominees for the 80th Annual Academy Awards were present at the annual champagne reception hosted by the Society of Composers and Lyricists yesterday at the Beverly Hills home of John and Bonnie Cacavas. The event was another smashing success, with all of the music nominees - as well as a few other guests - in attendance.

When song nominees Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova were called up, they went a little further than the other nominees who thanked the crowd; they actually performed their Oscar-nominated song "Falling Slowly" from Once, which they both starred in - much to the surprise and delight of the gathered audience.
