Lakeshore Records will release The Odyssey – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on July 3. The soundtrack features original music by Antonio Pinto (Get The Gringo, City of God) and Dudu Aram (aka Ali Disco B).

The Odyssey was commissioned especially for the 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Hackney-born Asif Kapadia (Senna) combines epic aerial images with the voices of Londoners to chart the city's turbulent yet inspiring journey from winning the bid in 2005 to the 2012 Olympics.

"When I was first asked by Film4 and LOCOG to direct a film for the 2012 Cultural Olympiad in London," said Kapadia, "I did not hesitate in contacting Antonio Pinto to create the score. I had such a fantastic experience collaborating with Antonio on the soundtrack for Senna, I could not wait to work with him again. I love his enthusiasm, energy and passion. Within a day or two of our initial conversation Antonio came back with three fantastic and highly original cues which form the heart of The Odyssey's score. One of my favourite parts of the entire filmmaking process is the moment when the images and the score first start to work together, when the music elevates the film to another level, for me this is something magical."

Antonio Pinto received a Golden Globe nomination in 2008 for Best Original Song "Despedida" co-written with Shakira from the film Love in the Time of Cholera directed by Mike Newell. Most recently Antonio scored Senna (Universal/Working Title), a critically acclaimed documentary based on the life and career of Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna. Senna was the winner of the 2010 Sundance Audience Choice Award and 2011 BAFTA winner. Antonio is currently scoring Witness an HBO series Executive Produced by Michael Mann and Snitch a Participant Film starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Previously Antonio was celebrated for his brilliant score to the indie smash City of God (2003). Antonio Pinto has been scoring films for around a decade including many award winning pictures including Perfect Stranger, Lord of War, Vinter's Luck, Collateral, Central Station, Behind the Sun, and Midnight. He has collaborated with such directors as Asif Kapadia, Michael Mann, Mike Newell, Andrew Niccol, Nikki Caro, Fernando Meirelles, Walter Salles, Sergio Machado, Heitor Dhalia, as well as up-and-coming Ecuadorian director Sebastian Cordero in Cronicas starring John Leguizamo, produced by Alfonse Cuaron and Jorge Vergara.

Dudu Aram is a songwriter, composer and music producer whose work can be heard in a multitude of media, including film, TV, apps, advertising, and even on National Radio both in Los Angeles and in Sao Paulo. He is a music producer for Squeak E. Clean Studios in LA and has worked for Supersônica, A9 Studios, YB Studios, and Ambulante Studios in Brazil. In his spare time, Aram is known by the name Ali Disco B—a DJ and a live performer with his band "Killers on the Dancefloor."

"Antonio Pinto and Dudu Aram have come together to create a beautiful, powerful soundtrack for The Odyssey, which I know will have the listener nodding their head from the very first time they hear it!" Kapadia added.

The Odyssey debuted at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on June 24, and as part of the London 2012 Festival on June 25 in London.
