At this year's Hollywood in Vienna event in October, James Horner will receive the prestigious Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award. Previous recipients have been John Barry, Howard Shore, Alan Silvestri,and Lalo Schifrin.
James Horner's recognition comes after the composer has been nominated for ten Academy Awards (two wins), three BAFTA Awards, and nine Golden Globes (two wins). He has also been the winner of the Saturn Award, Satellite Award, the Chicago Film Critics Association Award, and multiple Grammys.
