Varèse Sarabande Records announced that it releases the Ride Along—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on CD January 28 (the digital version was released January 14). Universal Pictures' Ride Along, which was directed by Tim Story, features an original score by Christopher Lennertz (Alvin and the Chipmunks, Horrible Bosses, Hop) and has been No. 1 at the box-office for the second weekend in a row.

"Tim and I wanted to make sure that this film had equal parts action and comedy and that the audience really went along for the ride as well," said Lennertz. "We knew we needed a full orchestra, classic electronics, and beats that would make you bounce in your seats and keep your heart pounding till the very end. With an amazing collaboration with top deejays NuMark and Cheapshot, we think we've brought the buddy cop action genre into the next era."

Lennertz is a composer, producer, conductor, and arranger for film, television, video games, and records. He first made a splash with his breakout score for Alvin and the Chipmunks, which grossed more than $360 million worldwide. Since then, he's proven his steadfast talent through films such as the star-studded comedy Horrible Bosses (Warner Bros. Pictures), for which he won a BMI Film Music Award, the successful Hop (Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment) and the box-office smash Identity Thief (Universal Pictures).
