Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) and the Sundance Institute will present the 18th annual Composer/Director Roundtable and 14th annual Snowball during the 2016 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

BMI's roundtable, "Music & Film: The Creative Process," will take place on Monday, January 25, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Samsung Studio (638 Park Ave., Park City, Utah). The conversation will be moderated by Doreen Ringer-Ross, BMI's Vice President of Film/TV Relations. "Music & Film: The Creative Process" is a cornerstone event at the Festival exploring the role of music in film. Focusing on the relationship between composer and director, participants will discuss what goes into creating a successful film score, the ingredients of an effective composer/director relationship, the Sundance Film Festival experience and more.

"We are proud to be so closely aligned with Sundance Institute's Film Music Program throughout the year," said Ringer-Ross, "and we are committed to shining a light on our composers at the Sundance Film Festival because they provide an essential and deeply emotional element of filmmaking that is so subliminal that it often goes unnoticed and uncelebrated."

This year's panelists include Director of Sundance Institute's Film Music Program Peter Golub, Sundance Institute Film Music Composers Lab advisors George S. Clinton, Miriam Cutler and Blake Neely; composer Kris Bowers and director Heidi Ewing, composer T. Griffin and director Roger Ross Williams, composer iZLER and director Kim A. Snyder, composer Walter Werzowa and director Jeff Feuerzeig, composer Keegan Dewitt and director Chad Hartigan, composer/director Gingger Shankar, composer Jongnic Bontemps and director Steven Caple, composer Mark Suozzo and director Whit Stillman, composer Atli Orvarsson and director Grimur Hakonarson.

The Snowball—to be held on Wednesday, January 27, at Festival Base Camp Presented by Canada Goose (475 Swede Alley, Park City, Utah—will feature a diverse lineup of talented BMI singer-songwriters including Drew Holcomb, whose Americana indie rock sounds have been featured in countless TV shows; Alexander Jean, the duo whose debut single "Roses and Violets" hit #1 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts; special guest KT Tunstall, the breakout British singer-songwriter who has released five internationally acclaimed albums. The Snowball will begin at 8 p.m. and is open to Festival Credential holders. BMI has historically showcased a phenomenal mixture of buzzworthy and iconic artists at the Festival.
