RICHARD RODNEY BENNETT
Gormenghast Sony 89135 (UK) 26.99
Powerful symphonic score for drama of corruption and impending fascism
set in a castle called Gormenghast. Great string and brass writing,
richly textured harmonies. Choral music for ceremonial scenes. A
winner!

RANDY EDELMAN
Passion Of Mind Milan 35887 15.99
Moving, somber and often minor-keyed score. Much more orchestral than
usual for Edelman. Haunting and memorable.

RICHARD GIBBS
28 Days Varese 66151 (23 minutes of score) 15.99
Subdued, mostly electronic score selections are buried between numerous
songs by various artists, making this album a frustrating listening
experience.

MAURICE JARRE
Sunshine Milan 35902 15.99
Sumptuous large orchestral score with overtones of war. Richly melodic
finale with orchestra and chorus is a standout.

COLIN TOWNS
Guest House Paradiso Universal 1103 (UK) 26.99
Performed by the "Mask Orchestra," this score is pleasant, sometimes
frantic big band music in a lounge style. Warning: very annoying
dialog, sometimes explicit, interrupts several tracks.
