In anticipation of three-time Oscar-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone's return to the screen with the ferocious thriller Savages, the original motion picture soundtrack was released this week via iTunes. In stores on Thursday, July 3, the album features an eclectic group of musicians including legends such as Bob Dylan, Peter Tosh and Massive Attack, alongside the critically acclaimed Cut Copy and Yuna.

Adam Peters, a former member of the groundbreaking band Echo and the Bunnymen, provides the unique dramatic score. His composition credits include Stone's South Of The Border and the documentary After Porn Ends, and his distinctive palette combining electric cello, analogue synths and other original instruments that he plays gives the film a genuinely modern and yet still classic dimension. The music was chosen by supervisor Budd Carr, longtime collaborator of Oliver Stone and known for his work on more than 80 films (Platoon, Wall Street, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps & The Doors) as well as Showtime's Californication.

The film's cast includes the all-star ensemble of Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch and Demian Bichir and is based on Don Winslow's best-selling crime novel that was named one of The New York Times' Top 10 Books of 2010. Savages will be released nationwide on Friday, July 6.
