The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, under Principal Pops Conductor Richard
Kaufman, will present two world concert premieres in an upcoming
Halloween-themed concert series October 27-29, 2000, at the Morton H.
Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas. Guest thereminist Robert
Froehner will be featured in the first live performances of Dimitri
Tiomkin's "The Thing" and John Morris's "High Anxiety" (arr. Randol Bass).
Additional selections include "Close Encounters of the Third Kind Suite"
(Williams), "Murder on the Orient Express" (Bennett), "Overture to Sleuth"
(Addison), "Batman Suite" (Elfman), and "Poltergeist" (Goldsmith), as well
as macabre classics by Khachaturian, J. Strauss, Moussorgsky, and more.
