segments of movie into lengthy suites.  "Nightmare At 20,000 Feet" is 
powerhouse, frenzied highlight.  Hair-raising music!  Same as original 
1983 record album.

(44:54)  Underrated 1983 South American political thriller with Gene 
Hackman and Nick Nolte has terrific, flavorful score.  Pat Metheny and 
full orchestra provide rousing whirlwind of music.  Main "Nicaragua" 
theme is a masterpiece.  Emotional, involving, exhilarating.  One of the 
greats.  Same as original album and previous Japan CD. 

JAMES HORNER 
How The Grinch Stole Christmas   ISC 490765   16.99 
(76:51)  New Ron Howard movie with Jim Carrey has lengthy album with 
highpoints and lowpoints.  Rousing, tuneful Horner score (44:23) is 
preceeded (and occasionally interrupted) by numerous vocals and dialog 
highlights.   Album is annoying but Horner's music is terrific.

emphasizes unusual sounds, dry colors, percussive rhythms.  A 
disappointment.
