Many remarkably talented female composers of note will perform original music as a tribute to Maestras around the world. While there has been a major rise in film music concerts both domestically and globally, very few feature the musical works of women composers. The Future is Female Concert serves as a platform where talented female composers can showcase their works in a film music concert on a national stage.
In 2017, of the top 250 grossing films, only 3% were composed by women. This represents no change from 2016 from the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film by Dr. Martha M. Lauzen.
