Turner Classic Movies, Film Music Magazine and MP3.com are proud to announce their 3rd annual Young Film Composers Competition, sponsored by The Guitar Center.
Hundreds of silent films in TCM's library have not been seen since the advent of sound motion pictures some 70 years ago. Originally shown with live musical acompaniment, no permanent soundtracks for these films were recorded.
So if you are between 18 and 35, here is your chance to recreate a piece of history, and introduce a classic silent film to a brand new audience. One grand-prize winner will be mentored through the composing and recording process by a select team of industry professionals. The winner's original film score will be incorporated into a silent film and aired exclusively on Turner Classic Movies.
