Milan Records today releases Karate Kid (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) with music by acclaimed composer Dominic Lewis. Available everywhere now, the album features original score music written by Lewis for the next chapter in the beloved martial arts film franchise. Starring Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, who reprise their iconic roles as Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso, Karate Kid: Legends introduces a completely new story about a young kung fu prodigy portrayed by Ben Wang, prompting composer Dominic Lewis to craft a unique soundscape that evokes the much-loved music of past films while establishing an entirely new sound for its latest chapter. Karate Kid: Legends debuts exclusively in movie theaters today, Friday, May 30.

Of the soundtrack, composer Dominic Lewis says, "Watching Karate Kid as a boy and with my boys 30 years on, I never expected that I would be fortunate enough to score a Karate Kid movie. I spent countless hours reenacting the crane as a kid and singing the three-note motif as I did it. Contributing music to this already wonderful catalogue of incredible moments - from the incomparable Bill Conti to the great James Horner - is somewhat daunting, but I hope by honoring the original material in this Legends score and by adding a new feel to the franchise people will enjoy the journey of where Karate Kid came from to where it has landed today."
