INTRADA Presents:

MUSSOLINI: The Untold Story
Composed and Conducted by Laurence Rosenthal
INTRADA Special Collection Volume 7

Spectacular score for 7-hour historical miniseries featured on 2-CD set

The 80s was a prosperous decade for historical television miniseries and the epics came fast and furious. A top composer for these miniseries
was Laurence Rosenthal, whose name was associated with epics such as PETER THE GREAT, GEORGE WASHINGTON, ANASTASIA: THE MYSTERY OF ANNA, and THE BOURNE IDENTITY to name a few. In 1985, Rosenthal scored a magnificent, large-scale work for the behind-the-scenes look at Italian dictator Benito Mussolini (played by George C. Scott). The story combined grand spectacle with intimate story telling. The result gave Rosenthal the opportunity to produce music of royal opulence; passionate, yearning romance; and thrilling action music. Running nearly 2 hours, Rosenthal's score for MUSSOLINI: THE UNTOLD STORY is clearly an epic score, expertly constructed by a master composer who to this day remains a true artist.
