The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is celebrating the world of film music with two concerts called Filmharmonic at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 July 2003.

Saturday 5 July, 7.30pm

British Blockbusters from the Silver Screen

Including Out of Africa (John Barry), Goldfinger (John Barry), Ghandi (George Fenton), Cry Freedom (George Fenton), Shakespeare in Love (Stephen Warbeck), Judge John Deed (Debbie Wiseman), Wilde (Debbie Wiseman), Poirot (Christopher Gunning), Inspector Morse (Barrington Pheloung), Truly Madly Deeply (Barrington Pheloung), The Duellists (Howard Blake) and Riddle of the Sands (Howard Blake), Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (Ron Goodwin)

From the intrigues of Poirot and Inspector Morse to the plains of Africa and the tears and triumph of Cry Freedom, this concert features the Best of British cinema and television music.

Conductors - George Fenton, Stephen Warbeck, Debbie Wiseman, Christopher Gunning, Barrington Pheloung, Howard Blake and Ron Goodwin.

Simon Bates from Classic FM at the Movies will present the concert and chat with the composers about their film and television scores.
