Award-winning film composer Rachel Portman has recently completed an opera, "The Little Prince", based on the book "Le Petit Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. With a libretto by Nick Wright ("Vincent in Brixton"), design by the late Maria Bjornson ("Phantom of the Opera", "Les Troyens"), the production is directed by Francesca Zambello and conducted by Patrick Summers.
The world premiere will be at the Houston Grand Opera in Houston, Texas on May 31, 2003.
