Vangelis, best known for his score for Hugh Hudson's CHARIOTS OF FIRE , has also composed the memorable scores of numerous motion pictures including Ridley Scott's BLADE RUNNER and 1492: CONQUEST OF PARADISE, Costa-Gavras' MISSING, Roman Polanski's BITTER MOON and Roger Donaldson's THE BOUNTY .  In addition to his Academy Award for CHARIOTS OF FIRE Vangelis has also been nominated for 2 Golden Globe awards and 3 BAFTA awards for his motion picture scores.

"I've always admired Oliver's films.  And, of course, Alexander the Great is a story that's a natural part of my heritage.  So, to be composing for this film with Oliver Stone directing makes it an especially exciting experience for me," said Vangelis.
