Nearly one year to the day of its merger with Chris Blackwell's Palm Pictures, Salem, Mass.-based music company Rykodisc said Wednesday that it will relocate its sales, marketing and production departments to New York, fully integrating them into Palm Pictures. The companies said the move will "provide more effective services to the entire label group." It is anticipated that there will be some redundancies as a result of the changes, the companies said. Many Rykodisc personnel are expected to relocate to New York. The Rykodisc label will continue to operate as an independent A&R entity within the Palm group of labels, which also includes Palm Pictures, Hannibal, Rykolatino and Slow River.
