Silva Screen will be releasing two grand 4 CD compilations in the next couple of months.  Jerry Goldsmith – 40 Years of Film Music (SIL-CD-1183 UPC 738572118327), to be released on August 9th, pays homage to the illustrious and prolific career of this film composer, who passed away last year. The 57-track box set contains more than 280 minutes of music and traces the path of Goldsmith’s career, and some of the recordings were conducted by Goldsmith himself. The compilation features the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philharmonia Orchestra, The National Philharmonic Orchestra and The Daniel Caine Orchestra.

Epics (SIL-CD-1170 UPC 738572117023), the second 4 CD box set, will be released on September 6th. From Alexander to Zulu, Epics is essentially the history of the world according to Hollywood - it gathers some of the most awe-inspiring film music, and creates a cinematic time-line across the centuries.  This is a spectacular collection of 56 classic film themes, including themes from The Ten Commandments, Troy, Gladiator, Masada, Spartacus, Ben Hur, Henry V, Exodus and many more.
