Last night the Recording Musicians Association held an annual fundraiser, called "RMANite 2005". Held at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA, the event was attended by several hundred musicians, composers and other industry types. The purpose of the evening was to raise money for the RMA, but there were also a few special raffles and donations, with proceeds going to the Red Cross, and other charitable causes.

A silent auction was also held, with some fantastic prizes, such as autographed score sheets and posters (the uber-prize being a signed poster of Memoirs of a Geisha, signed by John Williams, Rob Marshall, Yo Yo Ma, and Itzhak Perlman). Other items included hotel room vacations, Silvestri wine, and much, much more.

The dinner allowed everyone to mingle and network outside of the work environment, and have a delightful evening. Knowing that it was all for a good cause made the overall mood upbeat, and the RMA undoubtedly had a very successful evening.
