THE SOCIETY OF COMPOSERS AND LYRICISTS & UCLA PRESENT THE SECOND ANNUAL SCL/UCLA DINNER AND CONCERT TO BENEFIT THE FILM SCORING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM MARCH 8th 2000

The Society of Composers and Lyricists in conjunction with UCLA host the Second Annual SCL/UCLA Intern Dinner and Concert on March 8th. The cost of the reception, dinner and concert is $100.00 per person and the public is invited. For reservations, call the SCL at (323) 281-2812 ext.# 3. All proceeds from the event benefit the Intern Project, which provides Film Scoring Scholarships at UCLA. The cocktail reception begins at 6:00p.m. followed by dinner at the UCLA Faculty Center (Westholme entrance off Hilgard). Chamber ensembles from UCLA will perform at receptions before and after the concert. The concert begins at 8:30p.m. at Schoenberg Hall, directly across from the Faculty Center and is free to the general public but reservations are required.

The award winning UCLA Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Thomas Lee will present an evening of music written by noted film composers many of whom will be present at the event. This year's program includes music by John Barry, Leonard Bernstein, John Cacavas, Bill Conti, Aaron Copeland, Jerry Goldsmith, Jerry Grant, Marc Shaiman, John Williams and others. The Society of Composers and Lyricists is a professional organization of composers and lyricists who work in film and television. The SCL supports its members by addressing key issues relating to the craft and business of film and TV music. The SCL conducts seminars and forums on a variety of topics including performing rights and emerging technology.
