The 34th edition of the Flanders International Film Festival, October 9th – 20th, promises once again to be the pre-eminent film music event of the season. 4 world-class film composers will participate in a 3-day concert program, October 18th - 20th,which will be highlighted by performances by 2-time Oscar-winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Babel, Brokeback Mountain), Alberto Iglesias (Volver, The Constant Gardner), as well as Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles Narnia, Shrek) and Mychael Danna (Little Miss Sunshine, Water).

The annual Benelux event will close with the 7th annual World Soundtrack Awards which has become a high profile celebration of film music with a roster of the top names in movie music attending in the past including: Oscar-winners Ennio Morricone, Gabriel Yared, Maurice Jarre, Rachel Portman, Stephen Warbeck, Marilyn and Alan Bergman, as well as Patrick Doyle, Georges Delerue and Sir George Martin. The World Soundtrack Academy was formed in 2001 and is comprised of over 270 music professionals from all over the world who nominate in 5 categories including: Film Composer of the Year, Best Original Score of the Year, Best Original Song for Film, Discovery of the Year (emerging film composing talent),and the Public Choice Award. The winners will be announced at the WSA event which is the closing night of the festival, October 20th.
