Congratulations to composer Dario Marianelli for his Oscar win for Atonement. Marianelli beat out other nominees Michael Giacchino (Ratatouille), James Newton Howard (Michael Clayton), Alberto Iglesias (The Kite Runner), and Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma).
The Oscar for Best Song was given to Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova for "Falling Slowly" from Once.
