This week The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that 141 scores from eligible feature-length motion pictures released in 2017 are in contention for nominations in the Original Score category and 70 original songs from 61 movies are eligible in the Original Song category. Expanding nationwide are Darkest Hour (Dario Marianelli) and The Shape of Water (Alexandre Desplat).
