In continuation of the Varèse Sarabande 35th Anniversary celebration, the iconic film music label will host a special Halloween Concert Gala on Saturday October 19, 2013 at the Warner Grand Theatre located at 478 W. 6th Street in San Pedro, CA. Conducted by Steven Allen Fox and performed by the Golden State Pops Orchestra, the Halloween concert will showcase some of Varèse Sarabande's most terrifying and classic film music releases including Psycho, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Omen. The concert will include performances by Emmy and Academy Award winners and nominees, including Marco Beltrami, John Debney, Christopher Young, Brian Tyler, and Nathan Barr, with introductions from several surprise guests.

During intermission, a Halloween Costume Competition will be held where select audience members will be brought up on stage and given prizes for Best in Show, Most Horrifying, Funniest Costume, Most Creative, and more. The Deco Art Deco Building gallery will be showcasing hundreds of Jack O'Lanterns from composer Christopher Young's personal collection, whose film scores include Drag Me To Hell, Spider-Man 3, and The Grudge film series. Located at 741 S. Pacific Avenue in San Pedro, CA, the Jack O'Lantern collection will be on display for one week with free admission for the general public from 3:30 to 7:30 the day of the Halloween concert gala. The Halloween Gala is part of a global series of Varèse Sarabande events that have taken place throughout the year in honor of the label's 35th Anniversary. Most recently, Varèse Sarabande celebrated at the Transatlantyk Film and Music Festival in Poznan, Poland. Featuring the Varèse album releases of special guest Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami, the concert received a standing ovation from a sold out audience. Additionally, the Varèse Sarabande 35th Anniversary was celebrated as part of the Fimucite Festival in Tenerife, Spain.

The global concert series kicked off in February in North America at the Warner Grand Theatre, where Varèse Sarabande presented a tribute concert for Academy Award nominated composer Alan Silvestri. Later that month was the Hollywood Love Stories Concert in Macau, China, marking the first performance of film music ever in the entire country. On May 11th, Varèse Sarabande held the 35th Anniversary Concert Gala and Reception, with the GSPO performing to a sold out audience at the Warner Grand Theater. The evening included surprise appearances by Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer, Oscar-winner Michael Giacchino, and Oscar nominee Danny Elfman.
